Why should DAP’s Chong Chieng Jen questioned the appointment of Datuk Richard Riot as the Deputy Foreign Minister?.
His statement as published in the Borneo Post is sort of belittling the Bidayuh and Richard’s capability and racist in nature.
Chong’s statement is just to show that DAP is only fighting for one race and not the Bidayuh, not the Iban, not the Malays, and not any other races except the Chinese.
Why did Chong thinks that Bidayuh in SUPP are not eligible, not capable and need not to be given any post in the cabinet. If this is what DAP’s leaders like Chong thinks of the Bidayuh, than the party shouldn’t dream of getting the Bidayuh support in the coming State election.
The party is not needed by the Bidayuh, not until the party changed it stand and willing to accommodate the Bidayuh and other races to hold important positions in the party and in the government (if they can form the government).
Chong has said Richard’s appointment as the Deputy Foreign Minister was SUPP’s strategy to fish the Bidayuh votes, adding that SUPP has many other capable people to hold the post.
Yes, we agreed with Chong that SUPP recommendation to the Prime Minister probably something to do with the Bidayuh support in the coming State Election.
Cannot blame SUPP. Remember the party has two DUN seats and one Parliamentary seat in the Bidayuh areas. For sure and very sure the Bidayuh will not support SUPP anymore if SUPP continue to ignore them.
Remember Chong, SUPP has already learnt its lesson because in the past the Bidayuh were ignored by the party’s leaders. Now they already repent and know how to appreciate the Bidayuh contributions towards the party.
If not for the Barisan Nasional (BN) government, the Bidayuh has long abandoned SUPP. In the Bidayuh villages even school children expressed their hatred towards SUPP.
